Welcome to the 2015 Career Academy Summer Workshop!


Please note that this year's Summer Workshop will take place at Mainland High School, August 3-6, from 8:00 AM - 3:30 PM. The team planning and integrated curriculum writing time will get teams up and running with their project ideas to start the school year. Teams will have time to plan activities directly related to the 12 academy standards. Please make sure to have each team member sign-up in MyPGS to attend this workshop. The flyer below gives workshop specifics, including pay information.

STRENGTHS: Building our Advisory Board; Retaining Alumni as speakers, volunteers, judges, etc; 100% pass rate on the Biology EOC for all 9th grade health academy students.
OPPORTUNITIES: HOSA leadership and training opportunities to continue to college and beyond.
WEAKNESSES: Lack of time to meet as a WHOLE academy team once school starts.
THREATS: Not being able to "accept" applicants from UHS or PRHS, who prefer our program, based on zoning guidelines (and vice versa); when they meet our criteria.
Reviewed old projects and will continue to "update" with other core teachers. Started to create another integrated lesson (Health Careers) between Chemistry and Health Science (identified on the action plan).
